Swami Sri Sengalamadayar Sastha also known as ‘Sethatta Pilaykkavaitha’ Sengalamadayar. I know it is hard to spell it, but once u come to know the reason and story behind it, you will get surprise and your legs automatically move towards the temple. Long long ago, a shepherd maintain about 100 goats and was in field. There was a Sastha temple nearby the pond. The Poojari used to do Milk Abisekam regularly. Unfortunately on that day, milk was scattered on the floor. Poojari cried for not do pooja and prayed. Suddenly he heard the sound of goat and he walked towards the direction. He requested the shepherd for milk, but he refused. He returned silently and cried infront of Swami Sastha.Within few minutes, that shepherd ran to him, cried and flat on his feet. He cried that all his goats were dead due to his greedy and jealous. He realized his mistake and brought milk in a pot and did abhishekam to Swami Sengalamadayar Sastha. He saw the miracle…that all his goats were got life. From that day onwards, daily he gives goat milk to Swami. Hence the Sri Sastha is named as ‘Sethatta Pizhaikkavaitha Sengalamadayar Sastha’.
