Small and beautiful temple situated at Mannivakkam, on the Tambaram, Kanchipuram Road, near Padappai, Chennai.
Attractions in this Temple
- Around 2000 years old temple.
- In all Shiva temple Nandhi faced to god, but in this temple Nandhi turn and facing to the entrance of the temple.
- Underground (Surangam in tamil) way is connecting from this temple to Kanchipuram. Now this is closed and not used.
- Pillayar & Murugan statues beautifully carved and installed at the entrance of the Shiva sannidhi.
How to Reach
Train Route – Catch Beach to Tambaram MRTS train and get down @ tambaram station. All Padappai or Tambaram – Kanchipuram bus ply via Mannivakkam, get down @ Mannivakkam Koot road, from here catch auto to reach the temple.
Bus Route – All Padappai or Tambaram – Kanchipuram bus ply via Mannivakkam, get down @ Mannivakkam Koot road, from here catch auto to reach the temple.
By Road – From Tambaram, take the Mudichur road and reach Mannivakkam koot road, find the police booth @ the junction of Mannivakkam koot road, take left and take first right, this road lead you to the Manneeswarar temple.
Things to remember
- Roads are very bad and few roads are one way between Tambaram, Mudichur road due to bridge construction going on, drive carefully.
