Sri Arkeeswarar

Sri Amirthambihai Sametha Sri Arkeeswarar Temple is situated in Pammal, near Pallavaram, Chennai. Sri Soori Amman sannidhi also available in this temple.

• This is an ancient temple.
• Temple has very big tank (Kulam in tamil).
• This tank was recently renovated with public support. The temple tank is used by the walkers club for morning walks.
• 11 old bronze god’s statues (Vinayagar, Murugar etc) were found for digging sand for new Mandapam construction.
• People are believing Sri Soori Amman is the guardian deities (Kaval Deivam in tamil) for Pammal

How to Reach

Train Route – Beach to Tambaram trains will ply via Pallavarm; get down @ Pallavaram.  Temple is situated around 4-5 kilometers from Pallavaram railway station, Pallavaram bus stand is 5 minutes from Pallavaram railway station.  Catch 66,266 buses from Pallavaram Signal stop and get down @ Pammal rettai pillayar koil stop from there 10 mins by walk one can reach this temple.  Walk the opposite road of rettai pillayar koil, this road will reach to this temple.

Bus Route – All Tambaram buses plying via Guindy will stops @ Pallavaram, Catch 66,266 buses from Pallavaram Signal stop and get down @ Pammal rettai pillayar koil stop from there 10 mins by walk one can reach this temple.  Walk the opposite road of rettai pillayar koil, this road will reach to this temple.

By Road – Take straight road from Guindy, after crossing the Airport & take right cut after crossing Areva Signal, don’t take U turn, go straight, take 2ndright, go straight and take 2nd left this road will join Pammal main road, take right, go straight reach Pammal rettai pillayar koil, take the left road just opposite to the rettai pillar koil, this road will reach this temple.

Things to remember

• Temple will open morning 6 AM to 12.30 PM and 5.30 PM to 8.30 PM in the evening.  Plan accordingly.
• Roads are very narrow and congested, drive slowly.
• Name boards are not available on the road entrance to this temple from the Pammal main road.
