A beautiful hilltop Lord Siva temple situated in Thirukazhukundram village near to Chengalpattu district. Thirukazhukundram village is around 20 kilometer on the way to Chengalpattu, Mahabalipuram road. Lord Siva name is Sri Vedapureeswarar in this temple.

- Main Amman Sannadhi is not available in this hill temple. Amman temple is available separately.
- Behind Lord Siva all the other gods are beautifully carved in this temple. Don’t forget to see this (enquire priest in this temple they will show all these statues and explain the story)
- Another attraction and unique thing is Lord Vishnu & Lord Suriyan done poojas to Lord Siva, this is beautifully carved behind the Siva statue.
How to Reach
Bus Route – Chengalpattu is well connected from the entire place. From Chengalpattu catch Thirukazhukundram bus and get down @ Thirukazhukundram. This temple is situated in a hill; one has to climb around 600 steps to reach this temple.
By Road – Reach Chengalpattu and take Thirukazhukundram road from Chengalpattu bus stand. This temple is situated around 20 kilometers from Chengalpattu.
By Train – Chengalpattu is well connected from the entire place. From Chengalpattu catch Thirukazhukundram bus and get down @ Thirukazhukundram. This temple is situated in a hill; one has to climb around 600 steps to reach this temple.
Things to remember
- Early morning or evening is the best time to visit this temple because around 600 steps to climb to reach this temple. Also morning or evening time we can enjoy a pleasant breeze and scenery from the top of this temple.
- Beautiful rock carved statues are available in this hill temple, spend at least 2 to 3 hours to enjoy this architectural brilliance.
- Evening time one can enjoy the arial view of Thirukazhukundram village and the surrounding villages from this hill top temple.
